The Career Program is structured in three professional levels, each of which sets specific eligibility criteria. 

Each level is accessible both through an external application and through a promotion from within the Career Program.

Assistant Telethon Scientist:

• degree in medicine (M.D.), Italian laurea, Ph.D. or equivalent degrees 
• at least three first-author papers published in international leading journals 
• evidence of full independence in the planning and execution of the research program. 

Associate Telethon Scientist:

• degree in medicine (M.D.), Italian laurea, Ph.D. or equivalent degrees 
• at least three years of independent work in the field 
• strong publication record 
• beginning of international recognition 
• demonstration of having successfully guided a research group. 

Senior Telethon Scientist

• outstanding track record and potential for further expansion of research program 
• world-leader standing in a major area of research 
• demonstration of having successfully guided a research group evidence of ability to train junior scientists.
